Email messages may be blocked based
upon certain criteria in either the
subject line or the body of the email
itself. Below are the procedures for
blocking email based upon the subject
line: Step 1:
In Microsoft Outlook, click on Tools,
then Rules and Alerts.

Step 2:
Once the Rules and Alerts dialog box
opens, click on New Rule.

Step 3:
The Rules Wizard dialog box will open.
Then make sure the "Start creating a
rule from a template" is checked. Then
click "Move messages with specific words
in the subject to a folder".

Step 4:
While in the same dialog box, at the
bottom click the underlined "specific
words". This will open a new dialog box.

Step 5:
In this dialog box you will type the
word of the subject line you want to
block. In this example we are blocking
all emails with the subject line of
"Informational". After you type the
word, click add.

Step 6:
Once you click add, it will drop it down
to the search list. Then click OK.

Step 7:
You will be directed back to the Rules
Wizard dialog. At the bottom you will
see that the word "Informational" is now
added to the rule for the subject line.

Step 8:
Now at the bottom of the dialog box,
click the underlined "specified". This
will take us to specify which folder the
message will be moved to.

Step 9:
Here you will specify which folder you
want the message to me moved to. In this
example we are moving it to "Junk
E-mail". Highlight "Junk Email" and then
click OK.

Step 10:
Then you will be direct back to the
Rules Wizard. At the bottom you will see
the new rule you created. With this
example we are moving any message with
"Informational" in the subject line to
the "Junk E-mail" folder. Now click
Finish.

Step 11:
You will then be directed back to the
Rules and Alerts screen. As you can see
the new Rule named "Informational" is
now under the current rules. Click
Apply, then OK and you are done.
